Wedding Venue
The historic Queens Mill in Castleford is the ideal wedding venue to hold your reception if you want a smaller, more intimate experience with lots of character.
Situated on the banks of the river Aire in the market town of Castleford in West Yorkshire, the Queens Mill has all the modern facilities required but retains the look and feel of a bygone industrial age.
The Mill stopped producing flour in the 1980's and has since been painstakingly transformed by the Castleford Heritage Trust for use by businesses and the public.
Our wedding venue consists of two adjoining spaces, the smaller room is where your guests will gather for a drink at the bar before going into the larger room for the reception. Our main function room is a blank canvas with white walls that you can decorate yourself or hire a company to create your wedding theme decor.
Food for your wedding guests can be provided by you or your caterer. Use of our kitchen is included in your wedding reception package where food can be prepared.
If you want to have music during the day and/or your night function you can hire a disco/band or simply create your own play list and play it through our PA system.
The 'Mill Race' bar will be fully stocked to serve cold beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and our friendly staff will take care of your wedding guests so you can relax and have a day to remember.
Please note we are not licensed to carry out your actual wedding ceremony.

VENUE DETAILS
Our main function room can accommodate a maximum of 72 for a sit down meal (depending on layout) and up to 120 for your less formal night time celebration.Kitchen has a large oven with hob, microwave, fridge and washing up facilities. Outside the kitchen is an area for food preparation, storage or serving etc.
Our venue is completely flat without stairs and has disabled facilities.
There is a free car park onsite with limited spaces, other parking options are a 2 minutes walk away. Castleford bus and train stations are approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk from our venue.
WEDDING HIRE
Our wedding reception package costs £1250 and includes the following:Wedding venue hire (day and night).
Extra member of staff.
Mill Race bar.
Decorating and breakdown time.
Tables and chairs.
Table coverings.
PA system with microphone.
Catering facilities.
Disco lights.
Please note that the price cannot be reduced if you don't require any of the items listed above.
We guarantee there are NO hidden extras and NO minimum spend requirements on the bar.
We also offer other services/options which attract fees including welcome drinks, waiting staff, food options, pre-paid bar, stage hire, band and anything else you require to make your special day run smoothly.
To secure your wedding date a £250 deposit must be paid in full within 7 days of booking confirmation and is non-refundable. The remainder of the balance is payable 1 month before your wedding reception takes place and is non-refundable after it has been paid.
